  1. Try something new: Explore all opportunities, personal and professional. This is a great way to gain independence and feel a sense of accomplishment and productiveness. Not only does it give you life experience but teaches you something more about yourself.
  2. Make a new friend: Adding another person to your life who cares about you and vice-versa empowers you to do the right thing and surround yourself with people that think like you and look to grow in different areas of life. They may even teach you something new.
  3. Learn a new skill: You may surprise yourself by what you can learn, or never even thought about until a new friend suggested it. (See how these all play into each other?) Add a new skill to your resume and you will feel empowered to take on the world. You will realize your value even more.
  4. Dress for Success: Dress for success any time you go to a public place, comb your hair, and have your nails in shape. You only have one chance to make a first impression. Be the best version of YOU. Look presentable as opposed to just rolling out of bed. Dress like the professional you are and the person you would trust to do business with as well. You want to be trusted and respected as a business owner.
  5. Step out of your comfort zone: Take a risk and be bold with good intentions once in a while. This will help you grow as a human being and have a new perspective on something new. I think we all hear this piece of advice most often….for a reason.
  6. Be YOU, Be Authentic-Believe in Yourself: Stay true to yourself, trust your instincts, be a leader not a follower, and do not be fooled into thinking you need to be someone else. No good comes from comparing ourselves to other people. We are all a work in progress, no matter how perfect someone else may seem to be. Remember: Progress is Perfection. The goal is to be yourself, not someone else, everyone else is already taken.
  7. Surround Yourself with Positive People: Choose your friends wisely, go for like-minded people who also want to succeed in life and learn and grow. There is a saying that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with, choose wisely. Say goodbye to toxic people who devalue you, no good will come from that.
  8. Follow a good skincare/hygiene routine: Take care of yourself. Brush your teeth every morning and night, wash your face, brush your hair, apply some makeup if it makes you feel good about yourself, shower in the morning if it makes you feel more awake. Having a good routine is also a good way to feel productive and bring value to anyone you come into contact with.
  9. Think Positive Thoughts: I once heard it takes like 13 positive things to cancel out one negative. Remind yourself of the good things in life, focus on what you have rather than what you don’t have. Repeat positive affirmations to yourself at the start of each day. This habit will help strengthen your positive nature and not allow the negative talk to creep in and harm you.
  10. Start a Gratitude Journal: Hand in hand with “Think Positive Thoughts” this idea of a gratitude journal is going to build you a stronger foundation to focusing on what in life gives you a sense of appreciation. This could be personality traits or life possessions that truly matter to you. Again, not a competition like who has the coolest sports car, but what is valuable to YOU. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
