I am so excited to be here writing!!! I am trying something new with this blog, for me and for you! It’s my way of giving back. I want to share what I’ve learned about boosting confidence. I came from a place of not so much, and I think I’ve grown a lot in that area! So let’s give this a go! I want to hear from you too!!!!
I remember in seventh grade I was excited to start junior high at the school where my mom was the French and Journalism teacher. Yes, I took French! Parlez vous francais? (See Mom, it paid off.) (You need to click on "Read More")

Soon after though I somehow became less confident. Then eighth grade came and my confidence grew a little. The next few years it came and went. Not sure why. Then….the big change happened (no, not that one) and it stuck, at least in a slow upward trend!!!

In tenth grade I got a sleek new haircut that changed my life!!!! I went from bra-strap-length curly frizzy hair pulled up in a messy bun to a trendy classic bob blow-dried straight. Strangers walked up to me, from one end of the room to the other, to tell me they loved my hair. I was no longer someone who faded into the shadows of my beautiful friends and I think I liked it, maybe a little. My confidence grew ten fold. I still didn’t want attention and I still didn’t take compliments well, but I was on my way.
I am proof that change is good! As one of the three pillars of boosting confidence, trying something new is just what I needed. The three pillars to boosting confidence are:
  • Try something new
  • Learn a new skill
  • Make new friends
From there I understood that I can keep doing that kind of thing and everything will be ok, eventually. I realized that timely boost opened all sorts of doors to making new friends. My level of shyness started to simmer. With that working into my growing personality, I started to seek out new challenges and wanted to learn new skills to better myself and grow as a person. It was the toggling of this triple-threat combo again and again that made me stronger year after year. It all worked together.
And here I am today, confident without being cocky, that blogging about confidence is my next new challenge!!! So here I give to you my story, backed by my passion: writing, and my mission to make everyone happy by paying it forward. I want you all to feel confident and beautiful. One day at a time. Be you, you are enough, everyone else is already taken, be genuine, be grateful, accept every day as a new challenge and embrace your strength to be the best you. What are you going to do today to boost your confidence?
