![]() November 22, 2018 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I have learned and seen with my own very eyes that gratitude breeds a healthy balance of mindset that meets a million forms of confidence. Confidence in yourself that you have enough, that you are enough, that the people you choose to surround yourself with make you feel happy, confidence that you can sing as loud as you want even if you can’t hold a tune, confidence to try that bold red lipstick with the shimmer unicorn gloss, confidence to rock that denim jacket with a teal collar, and confidence that it is okay to be silly and imperfect!!! I am grateful for all I have. I count my blessings daily. I know I have a good life, even if the deck is sometimes out of place or has a bent card. I’m thankful for a healthy and happy family life, a husband who makes me feel like a queen who deserves all the Coach handbags she wants and makes sure I know how much I mean to us all, family hugs that include our cute not-so-little furbaby even if he is 45 pounds and pressing on my bladder first thing in the morning, early sunrises and sunsets even when it gets dark at 4:30 pm (uggghhhh), bonfires and s’mores even when the smoke gets in my eyes and I accidentally burn your marshmallow and in the process of pressing it on a graham cracker with chocolate I get sticky fingers, a place to call home even when the laundry pile is overwhelming, a kitchen with counter space and food to cook even when I don’t want to clean up the mess, working from home even when I want to play outside, an awesome car even if I have to share the road with moron drivers (not you of course), family and friends near and far (hey FL, want some 30 degree weather?), cell phones that take awesome pictures even if the internet has slow days, and so much more.
What are you thankful for? I have been thinking of starting a gratitude journal and beginning each day with words of gratitude. I believe I am a confident person overall but sure there are days I have to be in the right mood to let my confidence out, to be brave enough to go up to a stranger and start small talk that maybe leads to a new friendship, to believe in myself enough to learn a new skill and maybe just maybe become at expert at something new one day. I have noticed that confident people are happier most of the time. I have been reading more and more on the links between gratitude and confidence. Grateful people are confident people. The more I appreciate what I have, the more I realize that I have a lot, even if it’s not an Alfa Romeo, I still have a car that I love….you have to see this panoramic sunroof, it is amazing!!!! Things tangible or not, I have gratitude for all that I have. Give me a laptop or better yet, paper and pen, to write, and write some more. From the heart, from my real heart, or maybe one day I will pretend to be someone else and write a novel because not only am I grateful to write but I am grateful for the million spins you can put on writing. Are you with me? My challenge to you: Start a gratitude journal!!!!! We will reassess our confidence in 90 days!!!!!!
